 Mission Statement

"To work in partnership with Early Learning and Child Care Professionals, families and the community to support children's development and learning."

Philosophy of the Society

  • In a quality child care environment, children come first.
  • A quality child care program nurtures the 'whole' child; their social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development.
  • A quality child care environment enables children to safely explore, learn and grow.
  • A quality child care program is health conscious, meets nutritional needs, and provides positive one-on-one interactions, and consistency of care.
  • A quality child care program has professional caregivers dedicated to ongoing professional development.
  • A quality child care program supports and monitors its caregivers.
  • A quality child care program recognises the individuality of each child, parent and caregiver.
  • In a quality child care program all families are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, creed, origin, family dynamics, religion, income or ability.

Program Support: The agency provides consultation, training, support and information to Providers through home visits, telephone contact, provision of resources and individual training plans.

The Society is an accredited Early Learning and Child Care Service. It is our goal to encourage families and the community to work together for the benefit of young children.

We select all our Day Home Providers and their homes according to Government requirements set down by Alberta Children and Youth Services, the Day Care Branch of Central Alberta Region 4 CFSA and the Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Child Care Services.

Our Society contracts with Day Home Providers who are truly interested in providing high quality care for children.  This requires a person with a special kind of sensitivity, understanding and affection.  Remember that the experiences of a young child, social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional, have a lasting effect upon children.

Accreditation

Innisfail Family Day Home Society has been Accredited since February 2008. This means that AELCS has granted our Agency accreditation status to recognize that we have met the provincial requirements for high quality childcare.

Below is a quote from the letter we received following our site visit:

“Below are listed a number of areas in which your agency demonstrated outstanding best practices.  We applaud your performance in:

“The day homes provided well-organized and appropriate indoor play spaces, with checklists that were regularly used to check the safety of the indoor and outdoor environments, and each home had an appropriate outdoor play space."

“There were a great many areas in interactions and experiences that met best practice, with strengths shown in interactions in all three day homes. In addition, the meal and snack times were relaxed with pleasant conversations, rules, limits and consequences were geared to the child’s developmental level and explained appropriately in calm, quiet voices.”

What does a Quality program mean?

“…when you really unpack what quality means, it is the wonder and delight that children can and do experience in the world because someone is there beside them playing and learning in a warm, safe, responsive environment.”
